About this organisation

Missions

Modified by organisation

Dwengo develops didactic material that volunteers and teachers worldwide use to introduce young people to science and technology. Through didactic projects on subjects such as computational thinking, artificial intelligence, robotics and mathematics, we annually reach hundreds of teachers and volunteers, as well as thousands of students worldwide. In all our projects, we pay special attention to disadvantaged groups and girls. Moreover, all our material is open source so you can adapt it according to the needs in your classroom or project.

We collaborate with teachers and volunteers around the globe and via train-the-trainer sessions we enable them to bring our hands-on workshops to the students.

      Projects

      WeGoSTEM

With WeGoSTEM, we enthuse third-grade primary school students about technology and computer science. We challenge children to build and programme a creative art robot that can draw independently.

      AI At School

AI At School is a project born out of the concern that pupils should be able to understand artificial (AI) or artificial intelligence. We create teaching materials for secondary schools on AI linked to compulsory learning goals and curricula.

      Physical computing / robotics

To make physical computing and robotics as accessible as possible for teachers, Dwengo developed its own microcontroller platform, the Dwenguino, and a graphical programming environment, DwenguinoBlockly.

      Computational thinking

Dwengo helps teachers with plugged and unplugged activities to teach their students computational thinking, and aims to make teachers proficient in recognising the concepts of computational thinking in their own teaching materials.

      wAIsda?

In this project, ten workshops cover different AI concepts, always in a socially relevant context, and classified by difficulty to allow for growth.

AI in Healthcare - Get a better grip on your health data

We are adapting the map set of the AI in Care project so that it can also be used to improve citizens‘ and patients’ knowledge of health data and encourage its critical use and management by those same citizens and patients.
