Missions
Asbl Les Ateliers de la Traversine has set itself the goal of passing on knowledge and skills to citizens who are already aware, or not yet aware, of the challenges of societal change (climate change, loss of biodiversity, degradation of soils and ecosystems, energy crisis, economic relocation, social inequality, insecurity, loss of meaning, etc.) and of enabling this public to develop their ability to understand the living world and to be resilient in all areas.
To achieve this, it organises and designs training courses in the form of teaching cycles, support modules, visits and participative workshops in a variety of fields. The following is a non-exhaustive list of training courses currently being run or planned: market gardening; forest gardening; beekeeping; healthy cooking; light housing; eco-construction; low-tech crafts; personal development; socio-cultural activities; etc.
With several hectares of land at its disposal, it also aims to develop experimentation and production facilities in line with the content of its various courses;
The socio-cultural dimension of the project also involves hosting a range of activities and projects, specific to the economic, ecological and societal transition movement, which bring together, train and develop around the poles of culture, entrepreneurship, know-how and transmission.
