Missions

Modified by organisation

The Ghent-based Ensemble Gloriosus guarantees experiential concerts in a professional setting. It presents itself as a vocal and instrumental ensemble by breathing new life into lesser-known and forgotten, often baroque, compositions from music history, at the crossroads of tradition and innovation and with great attention to an authentic (choral sound) performance.  Under the direction of artistic director Patrick Debrabandere, this ensemble not only manages to incorporate a wide range of musical styles and genres into their differentiated programming, it also succeeds in bringing the rich cultural musical history to life through the diversely elaborated productions.

For example, there is the upcoming production Alleluia! Lobet den Herren with performances on 5, 11 and 12 October 2024. We have the pleasure of realizing a second CD project with the German label CPO. The magisterial and rarely performed 5-part Te Deum is on the programme as the main work, alongside the Dixit Dominus and Magnificat. This was professionally captured on screen even earlier, and we would like to play a pioneering role in this by capturing the performance of the concert on October 18, 2025 live. This combination poses a considerable financial challenge and we hope that in this way we can make Zelenka's music known to a large audience, partly through the culture channel Classica Stingray.

      Alleluja! Lobet den Herren

During the second half of the 16th century, a search for forms of expression and instrumentation developed on a musical level. This programme illustrates the compositional and instrumental tendencies, but above all the innovative musical characteristics.

Zelenka in Dresden | The Bohian Bach anno 1725

A second CD project for CPO is planned for February 2026. Zelenka's festive Te Deum is the main feature. The live recording of the concert on October 18, 2025 will provide a worldwide experience through Classica Stingray.
