(Translated from Dutch):

Quindo is an inclusive media lab where passionate young people experiment with all kinds of media production. From a state-of-the-art radio studio, fully equipped audiovisual hub and a friendly editorial room, they create media by and for young people between 16 and 30 years old. Quindo runs a social production studio that puts strong stories from social profit in the audiovisual spotlight.

Medialab Quindo is a place where young people learn to experiment with all forms of media, where innovative media applications are tested and the relationship between media producer and media user is investigated. Quindo is the only web radio in the country that is recognized by the government as a community radio and community media lab. We provide material, training, coaching and so much more, do you have an idea and some enthusiasm?

Quindo runs on voluntary media makers. They are active as a radio DJ, presenter, technician, producer, graphic artist, editor, photographer, cameraman or web designer. All types of young people, regardless of experience, ambition or origin, can train here through a personal training program. Quindo pays a lot of attention to the social inclusion and activation of vulnerable young people.

Creating media together not only ensures that vulnerable young people have a voice, they develop many social and digital skills along the way that strengthen their social position. In the meantime, they come into contact with other young people and many external parties.

In the social production studio we guide social organizations with their audiovisual projects. From podcast series to video documentaries and live shows. Social organizations have many beautiful and valuable stories to tell, but often lack the time, resources and expertise to tell them. That's where we come to the rescue.

Storytelling not only strengthens individual young people, but also entire communities. We support new and existing communities in creating their own radio show, podcast or video report. In this way we bring communities into contact with each other and show how beautiful and strong cooperation and living together can be.

Do you want to support this organisation?

As a growing youth organization, we have many needs, so there are many ways in which you can contribute and help build our inclusive media lab.

      • First of all, we are always looking for volunteers with media experience to provide our young people with feedback, to supervise productions, or to give workshops and training. Interested? Contact coordinator Broos Claerhout via [email protected]. Definitely welcome!

      • Cooking obviously costs money. We buy sustainable material that is as modular as possible, so we can use it in our own spaces, but everything is also mobile. The personnel costs are (temporarily) covered, but we are still looking for resources to purchase small audiovisual equipment (hard drives, small cameras, etc.). Through the Howest Foundation you can donate to the non-profit organization Quindo in a tax-efficient manner! We are currently looking for support for the Toekan project in which we play with Dutch in a media-wise way.
We are looking for specific support for certain projects. It could be furniture for the youth living room, a projector or projection screen, or something completely different. We are currently looking for a cargo bike solution that allows us to move in a sustainable manner in and around in the center of Kortrijk, with our equipment. Can you help us with the above, or do you have a completely different proposal? Contact coordinator Broos Claerhout via [email protected].
