Missions
The Ligue Handisport Francophone (LHF) is the sports federation recognised by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation for people with physical, intellectual or sensory impairments.
The LHF's aim is to enable EVERYONE to take part in sport, whether it is at the grassroots or international level.
To achieve this goal, the LHF federates more than 220 clubs in Wallonia and Brussels, covering more than 30 different sports: from blind football to wheelchair tennis, as well as athletics, skiing, swimming, triathlon, basketball amongst many more.
As well as promoting sport for all, the LHF is working with a pool of "elite" athletes. In doing so, it supervises the development and activity of approximatively fifty top-level athletes who take part in the Paralympic Games, World Championships and international competitions.
In doing so, the LHF, and its Flemish counterpart G-Sport Vlaanderen, is a member of the
Belgian Paralympic Committee.
Through its activities, the LHF conveys a universal message of tolerance and inclusion. Athletes with impairments are athletes in their own right.
