Missions
Mediel, a non-profit organization, establishes new forms of language and expression aimed at bridging the worlds of education, culture, and contemporary society by developing appropriate methodological and pedagogical approaches. These approaches leverage "integrated media" technologies (documents, films, websites, social networks, mobile applications...) and incorporate an artistic methodology.
To support the dynamism of civil society, Mediel has undertaken several projects since its founding in 1999, collaborating with European institutions (8 with the Commission and 2 with the Parliament), national institutions (10 with the Directorate-General for Development Cooperation, DGD), regional institutions (Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, Brussels-Capital Region), and international institutions (Fondation de France, EVZ Stiftung). These projects involve civil society organizations at local, regional, national, or European levels. Mediel's projects raise public awareness on common interest issues and the practical solutions that can be found through cooperation or coordination at national and European levels. The societal themes addressed include culture, memory work in Europe, global solidarity and responsible citizenship, development cooperation, sustainable development, health, migration, and more.
