Missions
Hospital Without Borders (HWB) aims to make a voluntary and responsible contribution to improving healthcare around the world by using hospital and medical equipment in a more sustainable way.
To this end, HSW recovers medical equipment from health centres in Belgium and Luxembourg to reallocate it to precarious centres around the world.
The NGO's humanitarian actions are twofold: Long-term action and emergency action.
- Long-term action aims to supply and/or develop a pre-existing health centre with medical equipment. This type of action can take place anywhere in the world. It aims to make healthcare more accessible and of better quality.
Emergency action is deployed following a crisis (natural disasters and armed conflicts) to provide aid as quickly and effectively as possible in the affected region. HWB has developed emergency kits that can be easily transported and used in the field.
Since its creation, HWB has carried out several thousands missions in more than 55 countries.
