Non-profit association Pinocchio is a national association that puts the interests and welfare of children and young people with burn injuries first. We are present from initial care to well into rehabilitation.

Pinocchio offers financial support to parents to cover various medical expenses, which are not or hardly covered by the health insurance organisations: costs for pressure garments, masks and ointments, transport costs and accommodation of the parents during (often long) hospitalisation of their child, sun products,...

During the hospital stay, we deploy volunteers to play with the children, organise a weekly visit by a Clown, and purchase toys so the children can clear their minds.

Furthermore, providing psychosocial support is also very important to us. Therefore, non-profit association Pinocchio organises numerous activities for children and young people with burns, such as:

• Reintegration camp
• 16+ activities
• Reintegration in the classroom
• Sinterklaas party
