Missions

Modified by organisation

LUCA School of Arts (LUCA) is a multidisciplinary educational and research environment in which creative talent can develop and develop artistically, technically and in its execution. LUCA promotes the practice of art and creative design as well as the development of innovative insights.

LUCA offers an integrated education in which practice, research and reflection go hand in hand, the space for choices, connections and specializations is offered and stimulated, and an attitude of lifelong learning is envisaged.

Thanks to this training, students can fully develop their ambitions to engage in a creative society, each with their own profile.

Through strong networks, both with partners from the educational field and with leading cultural organizations and actors from the profit and non-profit sector, students and lecturers have the opportunity to disseminate their teaching and research activity from a broad perspective on an international platform.

Respect for authenticity, diversity and integrity are the basic principles that inspire the university college in its view of people and society.

Inspired by the valuable and versatile Christian legacy, LUCA wants to carry out its mission in dialogue with and at the service of an open, sustainable, pluralistic and culturally diverse society.

Vision

  • LUCA wants to train critical students so that they are able to position themselves autonomously in society.
  • LUCA wants to offer a challenging education and research environment with plenty of room for experimentation.
  • LUCA commits itself actively to society based on its artistic, design-based, practice-oriented and investigative roots.
  • LUCA wants to think locally and globally. The local dynamics around the various campuses are a strength for the development of international networks.
  • LUCA seeks synergies between the various campuses and offers scope for broadening and deepening the student's trajectories.

Without art the world would lack a lot of color. Art inspires, moves and breaks the everyday routine. Art is important for people and society. That is why LUCA has been giving artists a boost for more than one hundred and fifty years. But we can only do that with outside support, thanks to people who care about art and understand the importance of art education.

LUCA is an arts college, an inspiring meeting place where emerging artists and established artists from all over the world develop, test and present new concepts, ideas and strategies to each other. As a patron, you can not only support a project financially, you will also be kept informed of its progress and involved in its operation.

        Student projects

Every year a new group of young, artistic talent graduates from LUCA School of Arts. Every year they surprise the audience with moving stories and crazy ideas. Looking for a project by a young maker that could use your support?

        Gifts (Tax deductible in Belgium)

With your support, a new generation of artists and designers can storm the stages, galleries and cinemas to surprise an unsuspecting audience with ground-breaking ideas. You choose which project you support or you support them all with a donation to the Artistic Working Fund. One thing is certain, with your support, young artists will give the world more color.

Anyone who donates will also receive a tax certificate for donations of 40 euros or more. This means that your contribution ultimately only costs about half of what you donate to us. Please note: A maximum of 10% of the net income can be deducted. (More information: art. 145/33 WIB 92).
