The Jesuit European Social Centre (JESC) aim is to promote faith and justice in Europe, by:
1. Giving voice to the excluded in the European political process and accompanying groups committed to rethink Europe.
2. Bringing closer through “deeper renewal” the Jesuit social apostolates in Europe through service, advocacy, formation and research.
3. Accompanying the European ecological transition towards sustainability, relying on ecological apostolates of Jesuits and partners.
4. Reinforcing Jesuit and Christian networks through leadership formation.
JESC currently manages four main projects:
1. The European Leadership Programme, an holistic (inc. spiritual and professional) formation and accompaniment of young leaders working in Brussels
2. The Jesuit Carbon Initiative, a carbon auditing process designed to catholic and non-catholic organisations and initiatives to conceive, design and manage strategies for ecological transition;
3. The fostering of Advocacy initiatives and Networks on Ecology, contributing to the European ecological transition and responses to climate change.
4. A feasibility study on the creation of a Future Generations Representative structure close to the EU institutions.
The organisation also monitors and advocates for pressing issues in terms of Social-Environmental Justice and European Affairs.
